Aims and Scope

The workshop will deal with Reference understood as speakers/hearers ability to pick out concrete or abstract entities. In particular, we will explore the semantics of referential terms, the pragmatics of their use, the cognitive abilities underlying this use, as well as the implementation of these abilities. In order to arrive at a comprehensive discussion, we have invited people working in Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Mind, Semantics, Pragmatics and Robotics.
